a wonderful experience in Allahabad. we stay few days and everything was excellent - rooms, hosts, day trips.we had a warm welcome and we do not forget our dinners with excellent food and nice conversations.

I planned for a day in Allahabad on my otherwise Varanasi centric trip and glad I choose Kanchan Villa for the single day. Traveling with family, this place is awesome. The host made us welcome and arranged for our city tour (via Toto) or the next day drop to Varanasi. We took the family suite (1st floor) - the rooms are big and airy with good amenities. The owners live on the same premises and are always eager to help you out. The staff is also helpful and courteous and declined the tip I offered for their help. Definitely one of the better places to stay in Allahabad and in my list, if I visit the city in the future.

The place is run by owners who reside in the bungalow. It does provide a homey feel as it’s actually a home. So if you are looking for a local touch it’s fabulous. But if you are looking for luxury holiday you may be disappointed. The villa is in a congested area not well connected from the main road, parking can be an issue. The place is overpriced for the facilities offered. It would be good for a price range of 2 to 3 K , not 8 K for an overnight stay. We had to pay in cash , cards were not acceptable. The timings are also too restrictive. So if you want to visit a home with a granny go for it.

After 5 months traveling through India we kan honestly say that Kanchan Villa rates as our favorite homestay. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. Ivan and Pixie made us feel at home like old friends. They arranged for tuktuk driver to show us around Allahabad. Their lovely Villa is walking distance from the Tombs but especially in the heat it is convenient to be shown around. The room had many outlets for charging electronics, Wifi worked slow but steady. Breakfast was a delicious combination of Indian and Continental; homemade jams, cheese, fried egg and toast and some freshly made Indian dish. Dinner too was to die for. We learned much about the Indian culture too. We stayed two nights and decided to spend one night at their other amazing and serene place “Loni Kot Village Retreat” about 63 km from Allahabad. We highly recommend Kanchan Villa.

We stayed for one night in October 2019. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and well decorated. Hotel is a heritage home and is very well maintained. Staff was courteous and attentive. Food was also freshly prepared, with homemade conserves etc provided for breakfast. Location was slightly far from Allahabad main city.
